Corry Wagner, OTR/L
Corry had been working as a private pediatric OT for over 10 years and also provides services at her clinic located in Mill Valley. Corry founded Friendship Explorations in 2015. With a background in environmental education and an obsession with the beach, she blends her pediatric OT skills with her love of helping children benefit from the beauty and developmental benefits of the outdoors.
Most prized accolade: Voted “Most likely to do OT at the beach” by her peers of OT graduate students.
Marika Austin, OTR/L
Marika became an OT because she wanted to work in a profession that looked at the mind/body connection and would allow her to work with kids and their families in various settings. She attended Dartmouth College for undergraduate studies and Boston University for her master's in OT. She recently started Bearfoot Occupational Therapy to help kids in San Francisco get outside!
Marika’s favorite things to do include playing ultimate frisbee at the international level, practicing yoga, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family. Marika grew up on a sheep farm in Maryland and spent most days after school outside roaming the hills, streams and hay forts. Marika has enjoyed living in Ghana, Peru, and Costa Rica as well as traveling to the Philippines and biking in Ireland and Thailand. She lives in San Francisco.
Interesting fact: Marika had a swing in the middle of her living room growing up - you became a member of the "Ceiling Club" if you swung high enough that your feet touched the ceiling!
Interesting fact: She loves to climb trees and her dog often climbs them with her.
Becka Bowman, OTDS
Becka will received her doctorate in occupational therapy from Samuel Merritt University in August 2019. She strongly believes in the positive emotional, physical, and sensory benefits that the outdoors provides to individuals of all ages. She has been a summer camp counselor for 7 summers at a residential camp in the high sierras, and for several weekends through different camporees and day camps while involved in scouting. Becka has volunteered at Friendship Explorations for the last two summers and is excited to take a larger role in the camp this year. Through her schooling, Becka has had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children in the clinic and in nature.
